CEC events roundup from 14th November

The team at Control Energy Costs (CEC) had a busy day on 14th November, participating in two key industry events: the Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU) Annual Job Shop Business Meeting and the Heathrow Airport Business Summit.

AILU’s Job Shop Business Meeting

CEC's Flexible Procurement and Risk Manager, Mike Stafford, represented the company at the Annual Job Shop Business Meeting. This event, organised by the AILU, brought together industry professionals to explore best practices, challenges, and innovative approaches in the laser job shop sector.

Mike delivered a compelling presentation on the advantages of flexible procurement, shedding light on how this approach helps businesses optimise energy costs while mitigating risks in a volatile market.

Reflecting on the day, Mike said he had a fantastic time engaging with attendees and sharing insights. CEC extended its gratitude to Dave MacLellan and the AILU team for the opportunity to participate and connect with both members and non-members of the association.

Heathrow Airport Business Summit

Simultaneously, CEC was also represented at the Heathrow Airport Business Summit by Client Relationship Director, Adriano Zucchelli and Client Relationship Manager, Nigel Addison-Evans. Held at Heathrow’s Radisson Blu Hotel, this sold-out event provided a platform for tier 1 and 2 suppliers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to network, discuss opportunities, and align with Heathrow Airport’s sustainability and collaboration goals.

Nigel described the day as a "fantastic experience," highlighting the opportunity to engage with influential figures like Marta Ayling, Head of Infrastructure Procurement at Heathrow Airport, and others actively involved in shaping Heathrow’s future.

Throughout the summit, Nigel emphasised the importance of open communication, collaboration, and partnership in achieving shared goals, particularly around sustainability.

CEC congratulated its fellow Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce members who exhibited at the summit. Nigel noted it was encouraging to see businesses from regions such as the Black Country and the Midlands participating, demonstrating the wide-ranging engagement in Heathrow’s supply chain ecosystem.

Looking ahead

Both events highlight CEC’s dedication to delivering energy-saving solutions to businesses across industries. Whether it's through speaking engagements or networking opportunities, the CEC team remains committed to helping organisations navigate their energy challenges and achieve their goals.
