Commercial Director of Salop Design & Salop Powder Coating in Shrewsbury, talks about the value Control Energy Costs have added to managing their energy costs and arrangements.
Historically, they used an energy broker to aid them because they spent a significant amount on energy across their pressing and powder coating lines. They contacted us when we became Patrons, after reading our case study for Petford Tools.
Over the first 6 months of working with Control Energy Costs, they have helped us secure a new electricity supply contract, reducing costs versus our historic energy broker. In doing so, they also changed our billing to a half hourly electricity data and supply capacity, as this will impact our ability to get accurate pricing for the tender. Control Energy Costs now get immediate access to our data via a new data collector agreement which allows them as our appointed analyst to validate our supplies and correct any errors in billing.

The Commercial Director says it would be beneficial for other members to talk with Control Energy Costs. We now work with close to 50 members, and, as a Patron, we do anything we can to reduce costs or secure retrospective refunds for manufacturing memberships.
Seeing closer working between members and patrons is something that I am trying to push, as everyone can benefit from this. The Made in the Midlands (#MiM) team make sure that members have the very best access to deals, and the current Patron companies all have the potential to save members money. There is a wealth of knowledge within the Patron group, and this is something that all members need to explore as an option to become more competitive.
