Neil Fraser

I started in the industry working for Total Gas and Power as a Key Accounts Manager, first on the gas side, then power. In these roles, I managed a portfolio of some of TGPs largest customers: dealing with billing and metering queries, with exposure to transportation pass-through (non-commodity) costs and triad reconciliations. I later moved to Shell Gas Direct, which eventually became Orsted. My initial role was as a Key Accounts Manager, similar to the work I did at TGP, but I later moved to the role of Industry Operations Analyst. 

A major part of this role was working with non-commodity costs on the gas side that were transparently passed through to key account customers on flexible TPT products as part of their monthly billing. Rates published by National Grid, the DNOs, MAMs, and iGTs would need to be captured to ensure accurate transportation invoicing and reconciliation. I would also carry out analysis on AQs and SOQs for our customers, which are major drivers for the non-commodity charges passed on to customers, which can lead to charges being too high if not set at accurate levels.

So far in my time at CEC, I have been working on a project on the Water Supply side of the business, the aim of which is to gather all wholesale charges levied by each Water Supplier in the UK, and implement these into CECIL. Once this has been achieved, tendering for water supply contracts will be much more accurate, providing a better service for our clients. I have also been collating the current published gas transportation costs, which will eventually be implemented into CECIL and will aid tendering and client invoice validation. Another aspect of my role so far has been working on the MHHS project and looking at ways we can help our clients during the transition from non-half-hourly to half hourly settlement.

On a personal level, I am a very proud father of two amazing girls - Everlie aged 5 and Isabelle aged 9.  I love spending time with them, and when I have spare time, I like to read and listen to music.  Music is my main passion and I‘ve been in a number of bands over the years as a guitarist and singer – that’s of course before my girls arrived. These days I just have my acoustic!
